Faith


 Our Faith, walking with Jesus, is interwoven into all we do.

We do our best to walk by Faith and not by sight.
Faith is living and active and sharper than a two-edged sword.
Faith enables us to see the pathway when there seems to be no way.
Faith helps us follow through the valleys of death, the raging storms, and the meadows of healing herbs.

'Tis through this Faith in Jesus that we live the Christian life and serve Jesus here in the wildwoods of Appalachia and in the shadowlands Desert Southwest.  And it is through this Faith that all that we do at Shadow Cross Refuge is shaped and modeled.

"For God so loves the World, that He sent His only Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have God's everlasting Life." ~ John 3:16

Our Faith leads us to reach out to those who remain lost, hurting, blinded, and held captive. This leads us into the wildlands, as witnesses in the desert, hand in hand with others serving those within the Native, Cowboy, and Shadowlander communities in and around Dine' bi Keyah.

"Therefore, "Go!" and teach all folks, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to keep all things, whatever things I have commanded you; and, Lo! I AM with you in all days, into the end of the world." -  Matthew 28:19-20

Refuge Dispatch: Fall '25

Greetings from the Shadowlands! October has seen the start of Shadow Cross Refuge sinking its roots back into the ground, with the setting up of our office, an 8 X 12? space, with a storage closet perfect for the Antioch Backpacks.  We were blessed to already have a small daybed, desk, and a few spare shelves to go into the office.  We lack a few lamps, and then it will be a set space. It is our prayer that from here we will grow, and once on our permanent site, expand the outreaches.

  Standing in the Darkness You said the dark times would come... That persecution, hatred, and violence would be against us. You said the World would not understand us. You called us to walk in Your steps... That suffering would be part of our lot... But You promised Your peace would go with us. You said we would be Your lights in the darkness. That we would shine the Good News to the ends of the World... That the enemy would not get to rejoice if we fall... Because you are our Light. So to You, Jesus, we cry in these darkened times... Be our Light, and help us to shine for You, This Day, this Night, and Evermore.
