Refuge Dispatch: Fall '25
Greetings from the Shadowlands!
October has seen the start of Shadow Cross Refuge sinking its roots back into the ground, with the setting up of our office, an 8 X 12? space, with a storage closet perfect for the Antioch Backpacks. We were blessed to already have a small daybed, desk, and a few spare shelves to go into the office. We lack a few lamps, and then it will be a set space. It is our prayer that from here we will grow, and once on our permanent site, expand the outreaches.
The Antioch Backpacks are growing. We have a lot of the supplies for the Ministry Aid Packs and the New Believer Packs, but lack the Backpacks for them. Reversely, we have the Backpacks for the Rodeo Outreach Packs, and the Haven Outreach Packs, but lack the supplies to fill them.
We are especially praying for the Black and Grey Backpacks to fill for Ministry partners and new Believers!
See the Antioch Backpacks page for more information!
The Evermore Devos are going strong, and we are working to get all of this year's posts on the blog. Our thanks to the prayer partner, who came up with the Devos name!
Keep praying that the Devos will touch the hearts of many in the coming months and years.
The Haven's raised beds got refilled, and a few late fall/winter over-growing items were planted. The Sage and Echinacea are growing strong. If it is like most years, the Sage won't go dormant. It is our prayer, possibly as soon as spring, to have our first herbal/wild foraging prayer walk where we discuss Native plants.
It is our goal over the winter to get more plans in place, and maybe even a few online classes available for free use. A small tool the ministry can offer those who wish to learn about using God's plants to naturally care for ourselves and our families.
Pray for the growth of our team. Current 'tis just Morria running the beginnings of the Haven and Antioch Backpacks, with Rob as our on-call lay pastor/chaplain, but, prayerfully, more will come alongside soon, and more outreach can take place. Rob needs prayer that the doctors, insurance, and hospital will agree, and he can have surgery before he becomes completely blind.
Be in prayer as we seek our permanent ministry location, with the goal being by Spring 2027, if not sooner.
~ Morria, Rob, and the Shadow Cross Refuge Team
